In The Darkness
How would you feel walking alone in the dark?
Outside in the darkness where nobody roams
The silence is broken; a sudden moan
The moon shining bright, as it lightens the ground
You look to see, but there’s no-one around
The further you go seems like further away
Not sure where to go, your further astray
You stumble and fall on a grave marked “fear”
Can’t get to your feet, your eyes shed a tear
The air’s getting colder; the mist sets in thick
Mud clings to your fingers as you jump to your feet
Run! Run! as fast as you can, don’t stop to turn around
Your heart’s beating faster, go run from that sound
A street lamp lit dimly up through the trees
A whispering voice calls in the leaves
“Stay away and don’t look back, my graveyard is forbidden
I know you can hear me, do beware, a full moon has arisen”
The end in sight, you’re almost there
Next time be careful, but do beware
You never know what darkness brings
It could be worst …… terrible things!
