Further intrigue in the continuing saga of missing Summer Wells and the unusual behaviour of her parents since her disappearance on 15th June 2021. For full background please read my previous post entitled: A Summary of the Known Facts, Statements and Theories Regarding the Disappearance of Summer Wells.
On Christmas day 2021 it was reported that human remains were found near Andrew Johnson Highway in East Tennessee within an hour and a half travel distance of Jonesborough, where Donald Wells was working the day that Summer Wells went missing and around one hour twenty minutes from Summers home on Ben Hill Road. There is not as yet any indication who’s remains have been found, Law enforcement has not released details of the age, gender or how long this person has been deceased, but the reference to remains, rather than body, would indicate some length of time.
Andrew Johnson Highway is the main Freeway to Knoxville, which is covered by CCTV.
On 28th December the channel creator “Ziggy” released a phone call she had with Donald Wells on 13th November 2021. The interesting part of the interview which I think is important starts at time stamp 2:53.26.
Please be aware that Don uses foul language throughout this interview.
At this point Don Wells states that the TBI/FBI accused him of selling his daughter for dope, so he took $2,000 from his bank account and went to Knoxville and bought $2,000 worth of “fucking shit”…
“I fucking gave dope away all night for two days. I had 5 or 6 agents following me for two days, then I got on the freeway and went home. They was on the freeway with me and I outran them all except for one car. I showed them I don’t need to sell my fucking daughter to buy dope, I got plenty of money in my bank account”.
Don Wells makes 5 interesting admissions here; Firstly that he was being followed by law enforcement agents, secondly, that he attempted to lose the law enforcement agents tailing him. Thirdly, that he withdrew $2,000 from his bank account, and fourthly, that he then drove to Knoxville and spent two days there.
The interesting fifth admission is that the TBI/FBI have actually accused Don Wells of selling Summer Wells for drugs. This bizarre road trip to Knoxville is an extraordinary reaction to that accusation by law enforcement.
If law enforcement agents were following him, which isn’t too hard to imagine under the circumstances, then it is fair to say that his behaviour would be viewed as extremely suspicious and in want of some kind of explanation.
If Don Wells believes that he was followed by agents, regardless of whether they actually were, then any story he tells could be viewed as an attempt at putting on the record an ‘innocent’ explanation for his very odd and suspicious behaviour. He needs a rational explanation as to why he withdrew $2,000 from his bank account. A suspicious person might suggest that Don Wells needed to pay someone off, perhaps someone with knowledge of what happened to Summer, a blackmailer, perhaps a blackmailer who is a drug dealer in Knoxville… This suspicious person might postulate that if Mr Wells were going to meet someone with such knowledge to pay them $2,000 then Mr Wells wouldn’t want to be followed. Mr Wells could never be certain that he hadn’t shaken off his law enforcement tails and needed to have some excuse for meeting with a dealer in case someone had seen him…
Surely law enforcement would already know how much Don had in his bank account and where the money came from. Throwing away $2,000 seems like a very extreme way to make an odd point for a man who struggled to make his $600 car payment each month and has worked little since Summer disappeared.
Now, we don’t have any idea of the date that Don Wells made this extremely odd trip, Only that it took place at some point before the conversation was recorded on 13th November but this peculiar story that Don Wells seems to randomly insert into the interview has all the hallmarks of someone attempting to preempt difficult questions that he thinks will be asked of him pretty soon.
On another note:
Is it suspicious that after a period of around a month since Don has spoken to anybody in the media, Don called “Bullhorn Betty” the same day this phone call was released (28th December)?
Please be aware that Don uses foul language throughout this interview including the vilest racial slurs.
At time stamp 7.40 Bullhorn Betty asks Don about the remains found. Don says he has heard about it, then asks what she has found out.
Wouldn’t the parent of a missing child hearing that remains had been found in the vicinity, have immediately called law enforcement to find out if the case is related to his missing daughter?
